Increasing the self-financing capacity of the Cultural Company and the Opera House. The Cantico research project was born with this objective, in Innovaway - a leading group in the ICT sector, ranking first among those presented for the Call of the Miur for Horizon 2020-Pon "Research and Innovation" 2014/2020 - Area of Specialization Design, Creativity and Made in Italy. The project partners are: Innovaway SpA (as leader), University of Sannio di Benevento (as a research organization), Meditel srl, Officina Rambaldi SRL, Digitalcomoedia Srl, State Conservatory of Music "Nicola Sala" ( as a public body), Eai Software Srl, Step Srl. The priority aim of the Cantico project is the creation of an innovative multi-channel platform that allows for the growth of the audience, through the use of new technologies to attract young people. The objectives to be achieved are ambitious and multiple: extending accessibility to productions beyond the traditional channel of live representation, with innovative remote-use tools, both in 'real-time' and 'on-demand'; adopt techniques and methodologies that favor disabled people, thanks to the use of wearable, low-invasive tools, for immersive use; enrich the representation with augmented reality tools; use innovative immersive technologies to train the artists of tomorrow and at the same time develop a new inclusive teaching method; improve the programming capacity of theaters through innovative data collection and analysis tools. With Cantico it will be possible, among other things, to share information, experiences and knowledge on the world of opera and theatrical prose according to the paradigm of Crowdsourcing and Social Networking, to the point of creating real "listening paths". Big data analytics services and tools and predictive algorithms will combine and analyze the data collected online by the platform, those derived from thematic groups defined on social networks, those relating to dissemination and training activities and those collected during live shows, with the 'goal to support decisions and improve the user experience. "The economic revival of the arts, the spearhead of our country - declares Antonio Giacomini - also involves the targeted use of new technologies. With the Cantico Project, Innovaway, together with its partners, sets itself the ambitious and challenging goal of ensuring Italy a competitive advantage in the field of the cultural industry at a global level. In fact, there are currently no comparable experiences for the capillarity, organicity and interoperability of the developed solution. From this base, an industry of national culture can receive new life, which currently produces revenues of over 40 billion, equal to about 2.5% of GDP. In Italy, total revenues from theaters and opera shows amount to almost 3 billion euros, of which 1.8 billion, around 60%, originated from public and private contributions. The margins of this Made in Italy sector, which also constitutes a strategic economic resource, with internationally recognized excellent products, are constantly decreasing. It is therefore necessary to improve the self-financing capacity of opera and prose theaters, through both an increase in audience and a richer offer of services provided. " "Within the Market Unit of the Public Administration and funded projects - declares Antonio Burinato - Innovaway has developed and grown over time an Area dedicated to scientific and technological research, a real hub of" knowledge and relations "inspired by open innovation, open to relations with local and national innovation ecosystems, engine of the development of a culture of innovation widespread at company level. The Area, which is currently involved in the design of the interventions envisaged by the RRP, is responsible for all the R&D activities of the companies of the Innovaway Group: from industrial research, aimed at the conception of new products or processes, through studies, research and phases of testing in the Laboratory, experimental development, or applied research, in which the intuitions found are transformed into prototypes of innovative solutions for the market. The area makes use of internal multidisciplinary skills and external expertise: engineers, IT specialists, economists and European planning experts with many years of experience make up a team that, due to the results achieved and the relevance of the projects in progress, represents excellence in the business landscape of Italian companies that invest concretely in Research and Innovation. The R&D area makes use of and thrives on the comparison and constant contribution with the world of public and private universities and research centers. For this reason it has set up an internal Advisory Committee made up of members from the academic and research world ".
